My name is Samantha Yeap. Please refer to me as Samm. I started knitting right after i left school. You know, schoolgirls dreams about going to some cold cold country overseas to further her studies and how learning to knit would keep her warm kinda thingy, lol. Too bad, that never materialized. I cant recall my very first project, but i’ve knitted and crocheted many things along the years. There are still many of my favorite pieces which i have kept and also those that i have given away.
I prefer knitting over crochet as i can knit without looking whereas crochet requires more concentration, something which i dont have much as i age. I do cross-stitch only when i have a lot of time to waste. I vowed to myself that when i have my own place next time, i will try my best to ensure that most of my decorative items are handmade. I’m crazy over handcraft. Just that i dont have the luxury of my own place to indulge in it fully.
Fibre Art is all about my journey as a hobbyist. I’ve always been amazed by what some fibres and two sticks can do. If you havent knitted before, you wouldnt understand how addictive knitting and crochet can be. I take my projects with me when i go out and am not afraid of knitting in public.
