My name is Samantha Yeap. Please refer to me as Samm. I started knitting right after i left school. You know, schoolgirls dreams about going overseas to further her studies kinda thingy, lol. Too bad, that never materialize. I cant recall my very first project, but i’ve knitted and crocheted many things along the years. There are still many of my favorite pieces which i have kept and also those that i have given away.
I prefer knitting over crochet as i can knit without looking whereas crochet requires more concentration, something which i dont have much as i age. I do cross-stitch only when i have a lot of time to waste. I vowed to myself that when i have my own place next time, i will try my best to ensure that most of my decorative items are handmade. I’m crazy over handcraft. Just that i dont have the luxury of my own place to indulge in it fully.
Fibre Art is all about my journey as a hobbyist. I’ve always been amazed by what some fibres and two sticks can do. If you havent knitted before, you wouldnt understand how additive knitting can be. I take my projects with me when i go out and am not afraid of knitting in public. Call me a show off but who cares. Take the time to browse the site and leave a comment if you feel like it.
