I’ve never knitted pants before and am dying to try one. The yarn store told me about their new Victoria Yarn, a kind of mercerised cotton yarn that comes in lots of colors. Just what i need. I’m going to knit Malcolm a multi-colored striped pants in Victoria yarn. I just hope the cotton yarn doesnt pill. This is so common as far as cotton yarn is concerned.
Here are the colors that i’ve chosen for my new project. I dont think this will take long. I’m working in 3.25mm since i have a phobia for 3mm knitting needles after Gordon’s Mickey Mouse Tee, lol. Started with 86 stitches to a row in moss stitch for the first color. It takes 10 rows to knit an inch.
I’m to increase a stitch every 6 rows up till 5 inches. Then, take it back to the yarn store for them to help me decrease the crotch area for 6 rows, and switch to my circular knitting needles. The top part of the pants will be knitted in the round in 3.25mm circular knitting needles. The waistline will be worked in 2 X 2 garter stitch.
